23/6 Has Oscar Fever! (Symptoms Include Vomiting, Loose Stools)

Picking "No Country for Old Men" to win Best Picture at this weekend's Academy Awards ceremony has been passé for weeks, yet the media landscape is still flooded with article after charticle after clip about how the Coen Brothers will bring a short, dickless man home with them on Sunday night. Okay, we get it. It's a good movie. That bad guy has a funny haircut. Enough. Though the Oscar votes have been cast for quite a while, a few scrappy promotional campaigns are trying to break through the monotonous drone of Coen/"Juno" worship and are still hoping against hope to change Academy hearts and mind in a few obscure, but no less critical Oscar categories.
