Andy Borowitz: Earthquake in California Turns Out to be Aftershock from Transformers Sequel
Scientists say that an earthquake that rocked Napa County, California Monday night was actually an aftershock from a screening of the new "Transformers" sequel, "Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen."
The quake, measuring 2.3 on the Richter scale, occurred just seconds after the Michael Bay-directed blockbuster unspooled in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, causing property damage hundreds of miles away.
Moments after the aftershock hit, Mr. Bay fired off an angry email to Paramount, the studio releasing "Transformers 2," complaining that his film had not gotten enough publicity as a result of the damage it caused.
"My film created an earthquake in Napa Valley and you weren't able to get that into the public zeitgeist?" he wrote. "People, I can't do this alone."
In other California news, a new poll shows that a majority of state voters would like Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to take a hike on the Appalachian Trail.
