Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie Both Get Golden Globe Nominations

Roll out that red carpet - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie both scored Golden Globe nominations, it was announced Thursday. Pitt is up for Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama for his role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button , while Jolie scored a nod for her part in the Clint Eastwood drama Changeling . The other noteworthy nomination went to Heath Ledger , who earned a posthumous nod for his role at the Joker in The Dark Knight . There were some surprises: Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr. were nominated for the comedy Tropic Thunder and James Franco got a nod for the pot comedy Pineapple Express . Director Gus Van Sant 's critically praised gay-rights biopic Milk was noticeably left off the Best Motion Picture category. The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be broadcast Jan. 11 from the Beverly Hilton at 8 p.m. on NBC.
