Chace Crawford Officially in Footloose

Chace Crawford is officially shedding his prepster image and will be joining the cast of  an ’80’s cult classic remake. Paramount studios has confirmed to Us Weekly that Chace Crawford will play the lead role of Ren McCormack in the film Footloose . The Gossip Girl star was offered the chance to try out for the role of Ren McCormack–originally played by Kevin Bacon in ‘84– when Zac Efron dropped out of the film . Hayden Panettiere is also rumored to be joining the cast of Footloose, which will be hitting theaters sometime in 2010. (link)
