Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Catty headline aside, I actually liked Common's work in AMERICAN GANGSTER, but this casting announcement on the heels of the PG-13 bombshell they dropped yesterday just doesn't do anything in me to inspire confidence. Christian Bale as adult John Conner really gets me pumped up, but I just don't know how it's not going to come off as a waste now. Common isn't all that bad, but his casting doesn't change the sinking feeling I now have about this franchise. God, I want this to be kickass. Is it too much to ask the movie gods to smack some sense into Halycon?

Well, OK, we already had one reason: Christian Bale. But now that Common's joining the cast of the fourth Terminator installment, Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, it's pretty much guaranteed I'll check out this movie.
