Ed McMahon on Possible Home Foreclosure "Things Happen"

Former Johnny Carson sidekick Ed McMahon spoke out on CNN's Larry King Live about the possible foreclosure of his multimillion-dollar Beverly Hills mansion. Asked what happened, McMahon, 85, joked Thursday, "How much time do you have?" McMahon — who wore a neck brace — told King he hasn't worked since a fall two years ago. "If you spend more money than you make, you know what happens," he said. "You know, a couple of divorces thrown in, a few things like that. And, you know, things happen." On Tuesday, news broke that McMahon's lender, Countrywide Financial Corp., filed a notice of default in March on $4.8 million in mortgage loans. Said his wife Pamela : "We didn't keep our eye on the ball. We made mistakes. It's embarrassing to say the least, and it's sad, because you know, Ed's worked his whole entire life."
