'ER''s Newest Doc is an Oscar® Nominee

Angela Bassett joins the show for its final season. "The Insider" confirms that ANGELA BASSETT will join the cast of "ER" for the show's 15th and final season. She'll play a tough-as-nails attending physician with a troubled past who returns to Chicago after doing tsunami relief work in Indonesia -- and viewers can expect her arrival to shake up the ER! "Angela is a wonderfully talented actress who I've long hoped to work with," executive producer JOHN WELLS said. "We couldn't be more delighted that she's agreed to join us." Bassett garnered an Oscar® nom for her portrayal of TINA TURNER in 1993's 'What's Love Got to Do With It,' and she recently appeared in TYLER PERRY 's 'Meet the Browns.' (link)
