Barack Obama upgraded his attire for his convention speech in Denver tonight. The senator will accept the Democratic Party's nomination for president wearing a custom-made navy blue, worsted wool two-button suit made from 97 percent merino wool and 3 percent cashmere, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. The suit -- a 40 long with a 33-inch waist -- was produced by Chicago-based manufacturer Hart Schaffner Marx. A retail version would sell for $1,500. Obama usually wears off-the-rack Hartmarx suits but made an exception for tonight. See photos of Barack Obama and his family . Hartmarx is the largest U.S. tailored clothing company; their products are made in Des Plaines, IL. "We don't talk about this because we've been making suits for presidents, vice presidents and senators for more than 100 years," Hartmarx CEO Homi Patel told the Sun-Times .
