George Clooney Speaks Out at Critics' Choice Awards

Geeorge Clooney makes statement at small awards show. Hours after the announcement that the Golden Globes awards show has been scaled down to a press conference this year due to the writers' strike, the 13th annual Critics' Choice Awards got underway Monday night with ANGELINA JOLIE, BRAD PITT, GEORGE CLOONEY, KATIE HOLMES, KYRA SEDGWICK and more stars attending. Many of the celebs commented on the Globes situation, including George Clooney, who told us he would not cross a picket line to come to any awards show. (The Critics' Choice Awards are not subject to guild contracts.) Created by the Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) to recognize excellence in cinematic achievement, the event was hosted by D.L. HUGHLEY and aired live on VH1. 'No Country for Old Men' was the big night's winner, taking Best Picture, Best Director and Best Supporting Actor, while 'Hairspray' won Best Acting Ensemble and Best Young Actress.
