George Clooney Speaks Out on the Globes

Small awards show gets a big turnout. Hours after the announcement that the Golden Globes awards show has been scaled down to a press conference this year due to the writers' strike, the 13th annual Critics' Choice Awards got underway Monday night with ANGELINA JOLIE, BRAD PITT, GEORGE CLOONEY, KATIE HOLMES, KYRA SEDGWICK and more stars attending. Many of the celebs commented on the Globes situation, including George Clooney, who told us he would not cross a picket line to come to any awards show. (The Critics' Choice Awards are not subject to guild contracts.) "This is a one-industry town and when a strike happens, it's not just writers and directors," George said during the show. "My hope is that all the parties involved will lock themselves in a room and not come out till its finished."
