John Mayer and Minka Kelly Split

It's lights out for John Mayer and Friday Night Lights star Minka Kelly . Sources confirm to Usmagazine.com that the couple, who began dating last fall, recently broke up at Mayer's request. "John initiated the split," says a source. "He just wasn't ready to commit to Minka or to anyone." Mayer, 30, who broke up and got back together with ex Jessica Simpson several times earlier last year, was spotted partying with other girls (including Cameron Diaz ) in New York City over the last month while Kelly, 27, was in Los Angeles. Says a source: "She was disappointed to say the least. She was really happy but wanted a full commitment." A source close to Mayer tells Us , "From his perspective, he is single and has been seen out with her. Nobody ever said he was planning a wedding with anyone." A rep for Mayer declined comment and a Kelly rep couldn't be reached. (link)
