Suri picked them out! The Met Gala's theme was superheroes, but that didn't quite explain the bright blue heels that KATIE HOLMES wore with her vintage red-beaded ARMANI gown. Today, Women's Wear Daily reports the reason for the Technicolor pairing -- SURI picked them out! The trade says the two were shopping at famed Madison Avenue shoe boutique, ROGER VIVIER , on Monday, when the blue heels obviously caught Suri's eye. Suri also picked out a pair of red buckle flats for mom. As a reward, Vivier designers are reportedly creating a special children's pair just for the tot. Katie is a longtime fan of the late French designer, who has made shoes for houses CHRISTIAN DIOR and YVES ST. LAURENT as well as celebrities and British royals, and is credited with inventing the stiletto heel. (link)
