"The Late Show with DAVID LETTERMAN " and "The Late Late Show with CRAIG FERGUSON " were the only shows that returned with writers and Letterman even had striking writers read the famous top ten list -- spewing a list of their demands. Letterman also scored, along with an appearance by ROBIN WILLIAMS , a surprise videotaped introduction from presidential hopeful HILLARY CLINTON .
Despite writers picketing NBC on Wednesday, JAY LENO , whose "Tonight Show" guests included GOP presidential hopeful MIKE HUCKABEE , insisted he wasn't breaking union rules. "I'm doing what I did the day I started," he said. "I write jokes and I wake up my wife in the the middle of the night and go, "Honey is this funny?'"
