Madonna Looks to Postpone Adoption Hearing

She cites "business reasons." MADONNA is requesting that a Malawian court postpone the hearing to finalize her adoption of little DAVID BANDA , Reuters reports. The Material Mom's law firm in the the southern African nation filed an application asking the court to delay the hearing -- originally slated to take place on April 22 -- until May 15 so Madonna could head to the U.S. for "business reasons," according to the news agency. Toddler David has been living with the pop star and her husband GUY RITCHIE in London for the past two years. The Material Mom has been under fire regarding the adoption, however, because some human rights groups in Malawi have said they are concerned the government cut legal corners to fast-track the adoption due to her celebrity. Madonna's lawyers deny the allegations. Madonna and husband Guy met David at an orphanage in Malawi on what they said was a humanitarian mission to help orphans in Malawi.
