MTV, Huffington Post, Others Launch New Community Service Search Engine
All for Good program lets organizations and individuals customize volunteer listings. By Cara Alwill

Monday (June 22) marked the official launch of a United We Serve, a national community service initiative that is intended to help Americans find ways to do good and volunteer for the organization of their choice. And to help with that goal, a number of organizations pooled their resources to create an open-source application called All for Good ( AllforGood.org ).
As part of President Obama's call to service, employees from Google, Craigslist Foundation, YouTube, FanFeedr and UCLA donated their time to create the first ever Craigslist-style search-engine application designed to help prospective volunteers find the right organization for them. Whether it be lending their graphic design skills to a budding Web site or offering up their wisdom as a mentor to an eager child, All for Good matches up volunteers with the appropriate outlet for them and allows users to share ...
