Nicolas Cage: One 'Bad Lieutenant'

Kiss 'The Family Man' goodbye. NICOLAS CAGE is set to play a cop with some serious ethical shortcomings in 'Bad Lieutenant.' The film, to be directed by WERNER HERZOG ('Rescue Dawn'), will be an updated remake of the 1992 crime drama starring HARVEY KEITEL , according to Daily Variety . In the original flick, Keitel's lewd lawman did infitely more drugging, gambling, shagging and pilfering than policing -- and for those merits, the film received an NC-17 rating. But before Cage dons his 'Bad Lieutenant' badge, he'll explore a different dark side, that of a hitman in 'Bankcock Dangerous,' out this August. (link)
