Noms Announced For Writers Guild Awards

ET has the details... The Golden Globes may be canceled, but the Writers Guild Awards are on, in spite of the strike. The WGA announced its nominations on Thursday for the ceremony, to be held on February 9, 2008, in New York. The winners will also be announced in California, where a show won't be thrown until the strike is over, according to the WGA, West. Best Original Screenplay noms include the GEORGE CLOONEY thriller 'Michael Clayton' and the KATHERINE HEIGL raunch-comedy 'Knocked Up,' while scripts up for Best Adapted Screenplay include the COEN brothers' character-piece 'No Country For Old Men,' the DANIEL DAY-LEWIS oil-epic 'There Will Be Blood,' and SEAN PENN 's directorial and scriptwriting effort 'Into the Wild.' MICHAEL MOORE 's health care industry expose 'Sicko' highlights the Best Documentary noms. (link)
