Obama Camp to Air Special on CBS, NBC

Barack Obama ’s campaign has purchased air time on both CBS and NBC in late October to air a special, and is in talks with ABC and Fox to do the same, Variety reports. The Democratic nominee for president’s special program will air for 30 minutes at 8 p.m. on October 29 on the networks. Nothing has been finalized with ABC, and Fox may not be able to air it due to possible World Series conflicts. According to U.S. campaign rules, the networks would have to offer equal air time to Republican presidential nominee John McCain for the same price, the trade notes. CBS told Variety , "We will, of course, make an equivalent opportunity available to Senator McCain and other legally qualified candidates upon request." (link)
