Project Runway 2008 Recap: Bright Lights, Big City

This Week’s Challenge : Design an outfit for a night out on the town inspired by a photograph taken in New York City. For starters, I must say that it is always totally weird to see a new crop of designers in a format that I once lived in. By the way, I love the show openings when they show the designers getting out of bed looking like total s--t. It kind of deglamourizes the whole experience. To kick off the episode, the designers go on a field trip in rain boots and ponchos on a double decker bus, where they are to be dropped off at various spots around the city to take their inspirational photos. Tim [Gunn] explains some confusing configuration of these three people go here to take photos, these four go there, but I can't follow.They are given cameras to take pictures to eventually use one photo for inspiration. (This is a regurgitated challenge from season 2 even though they aren't acknowledging it.) Ironically, I judged that challenge. People said I was bitchy, but I was there to ... (link)
