Robert Downey to be Sci-Fi Cowboy?

Movie to depict battle between cowboys and aliens. ROBERT DOWNEY JR . is in negotiations to star in 'Cowboys and Aliens,' a film about a traditional Old West battle that gets interrupted by a spaceship crashing into the prairie in Arizona, according to the Hollywood Reporter . The DreamWorks/Universal Pictures collaboration, to be produced by BRIAN GRAZER and RON HOWARD , has been in development at several studios over the past ten years, the Hollywood Reporter said. Downey, currently starring in in the highly successful superhero flick 'Iron Man,' will reportedly play a former Union Army gunslinger in 'Cowboys and Aliens.'   (link)
