Fox and Universal more concerned about the traditionally slow Fourth of July weekend than "Transformers." By Dan Frankel After some hemming and hawing as to who would pay for the glasses, Fox’s first 3D movie, “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs,” will finally hit theaters starting at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, in 3,994 venues, 1,606 of them in digital 3D. Opening alongside the same day, Universal’s John Dillinger biopic “Public Enemies,” starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale, will start in 3,319 venues.
