Daniel Day-Lewis' portrayal of an oil baron who goes from crass capitalist to cold-blooded killer may be the most unrelieved misanthrope ever to carry an Oscar-nominated movie -- in this case, Paul Thomas Anderson's "There Will Be Blood."
