Josh Hartnett and Sam Rockwell have been cast
in the upcoming adaptation of Don DeLillo’s 1971 novel
End Zone. Dark Horizons says that, “Hartnett is playing a gifted running back who is fumbling his attempts to acclimate to stardom. Rockwell plays the school’s excitable publicist.”

The new ‘Max Payne’ movie from Twentieth Century
Fox is getting nearer to being made, with the
director being announced, the script being finished, and most importantly of all, a lead actor being tempted by the part. Variety is reporting that the studio are currently negotiating with Mark Wahlberg to try and persuade him to play the “good cop gone bad” lead role in the film of the game.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kristen Stewart has
signed on to Twilight, the film adaptation of Stephanie
Meyer’s hugely popular teen-vampire romance book. Twilight and its sequels have been big best-sellers, capturing the hearts of young adult readers with their Romeo and Juliet style love story.
The writers strike in Hollywood has now begun,
after last minute emergency talks broke down last night.
The WGA (Writers Guild of America) and AMTPT (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers) were locked in secret meetings right up until 21:30 Pacific time on Sunday evening, and the strike officially began at 00:01 on Monday November 5th.

The classic Charles Bronson ‘Death Wish’ films may
be about to get a resurrection, which is good
news. On the other hand, it seems MGM is looking at the possibility of having Sylvester Stallone as director and lead actor, which is bad news.
Jennifer Morrison is the latest name attached to
the Abrams’ big Star Trek pic. According to IESB,
the House actress was spotted on the set, and though her management team confirmed she’s been cast, they wouldn’t say anything about her character.
Rumors have been zipping around about a Poltergeist
remake for a while, but now Bloody-Disgusting is reporting
that it’s a definite go. Mandate Pictures has acquired the rights for the remake and will produce it for MGM. No other specifics on shooting, casting, etc., until the strike is resolved.
It seems the popularity of British films is
on the increase, at least in the UK itself.
The latest figures to be released show that over a quarter of the UK’s 2007 box office takings has come from home-grown movies.

that the Wachowski brothers Speed Racer movie had been
filmed almost entirely against green screen backdrops. This meant that the vast majority of scenery, and action shots were going to be computer generated, and have a completely stylized look.
Today is trailer day for me (and thank
you to my patient cohort Dave for explaining to
me how to put in videos. I’m a little impaired when it comes to that kind of thing), which means next we have the newly released trailer for the Sex and the City movie.
I admit it, I love Indiana Jones, am
looking forward to the movie, and therefore am just
going to keep on scrounging for every bit of news I can find. In addition to his recent statements about the new characters, producer Frank Marshall revealed a little more about the plot of the film to USA Today.
Jessica Simpson could be being lined up to
play Sandy in a new remake of Grease, at
least according to Michelle Pfeiffer. Simpson, who I have only really seen act (if you can call walking around with not many clothes on acting) in The Dukes Of Hazzard.
US Weekly are now claiming that not only
have Disney asked Hudgens to come back for the
third film in the Grease wannabee series, they have also given her a massive pay rise.
