... missed his Gary Jules-inspired version of Tears For Fears’ “Mad World” thanks to the show running over its 62-minute scheduled running time. (The cutoff seems to have fired up his fanbase, who have landed him in first place on busy-signal tracker DialIdol, and I suspect that there’s no way he is going home tonight, what with Simon Cowell giving him a standing ovation instead of a critique. is being pushed back again, this time to June 16 (a week later than what was reported
last week
). The album will be out in 2013 at this current rate of release date switching. Which I guess is better than

The little man is in Los Angeles to play three shows (all on Saturday) and three nights on Leno (this week) to promote a trilogy of new LPs, which got started with last night's Tonight Show premiere of MPLSoUND 's "Ol' Skool Company." The topical funky cut references bailouts and AIG and isn't the most memorable selection in his miles-deep oeuvre, but watching him cruise through it still makes me want to throw my panties onstage. Thier new album entitled It’s Blitz, which incidently kicks more ass than a soccer-playing farmer who hates donkeys, will be available digitally (and legitimatley) next week on March 10 and the physical release i.e. CD will be available for you to get your grubby hands on on March 31(in the U.S., everyone else will have to wait until April 6th).

Nneka - "Heartbeat". A wonderful song, but Nneka also sings it wonderfully - makes the chorus's stumbling drums second to her own voice, makes her own verse second to that h-h-h-h-heartbeat. It's a little bit Robyn, a little but Lauryn Hill, but has the full ambitious believing bloom of a singer, a real singer, a pop-star-who-oughta.
