This will be unreasonably brief and lacking in far too much detail, but sometimes things must be rushed and not overlooked, and today is one of those times. Today marks the 50th anniversary of one of the most beloved and still-appreciated cartoon shows, ever.

Yes, on November 19, 2009, Rocky and Bullwinkle appeared in the first episode of Rocky and His Friends , from the maniacally clever mind of Jay Ward.

The series was populated by Rocket J. Squirrel and his adorably dimwitted friend Bullwinkle the Moose from Frostbite Falls, Minnesota, along with their nemeses Boris Badanov (the name being a parody of the Russian regent and later subject of Mussorgsky's opera, Boris Godunov ) and Natasha Fatale, Fearless Leader, and all manner of lunatics. Bullwinkle would appear in his own sketches as the clueless "Mr. Know-It-All" and also try to introduce other segments by first attempting (always woefully unsuccessfully) to pull a rabbit out of a hat - after demonstrating, "Nothing up my ...

Find more top entertainment news, videos, and blogs on ShowHype: Celebrities, Robert John Burke, Rocky

NCIS: Preview of Episode 7.7 "Endgame"

If last week's episode was all about Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his legendary mentor, tonight on NCIS , it's all about Vance (Rocky Carroll). So for those who like him, it's your lucky week. For those who don't like him (and there are a lot, judging from the comments), maybe this can change your mind? On "Endgame" Vance's family is once again put into danger when an assassin from his past returns to threaten their safety, and the team works on helping Vance face his troubled past. The assassin in question, however, is not just your typical assassin. It's the number one assassin the world, the type who'd dip bullets into lethal poison just to be on the safe side. As if that wasn't bad enough, she's also a knockout. And she's after Vance, his family, or both.

Find more top entertainment news, videos, and blogs on ShowHype: Television, Mark Harmon, NCIS, Rocky

Harmon, Carroll Explain 'NCIS' Success

Both Mark Harmon and Rocky Carroll, who play Gibbs and Vance respectively on NCIS , agree that the success of the CBS procedural is due in large part to it being not your typical procedural. "You've got to have a thick skin to work here. This is a group who likes to have fun," says Harmon, while Carroll credits the fact that the NCIS characters are three-dimensional, including their quirks and idiosyncrasies.

Find more top entertainment news, videos, and blogs on ShowHype: Television, NCIS, Mark Harmon, Rocky
