The '60s spy series "The Prisoner" feels more
relevant than ever ... and yet remains very much
a product of its time -- 1966-1967, the glory days of psychedelia and paranoia. On Blu-ray, the op art/pop art imagery leaps from the screen. This is by far the best rendition of a '60s TV series.

Cool guy David Carradine made many films, more
than 100 -- some quite good, others not so
good. We forgave the stinkers and we dug that funny yellow pages TV ad. And of course there was "Kung Fu." Here are a half dozen must-see Carradine films and TV shows on DVD/Blu-ray.

The filmmaker Fritz Lang found his way to
Hollywood in the mid-1930s, having just fled Nazi Germany.
After helming a few crime movies and westerns, he struck back at the Nazis with “Man Hunt,” a '41 thriller/film noir that opens with Adolph Hitler in the crosshairs of a rifle. Restored and on DVD ..

The upcoming release of Danny Boyle's Oscar-winning "Slumdog
Millionaire" includes more than a half hour of extra
footage that's every bit as good as what's in the film. If the "28 Days Later" director wanted to do an extended cut of the film, he'd have no trouble.

"Man on a Wire" chronicles the plot to

The 1950s pin-up sensation Bettie Page lived a
remarkable life, one that the newspaper obituaries will struggle
to convey. You can get a good feel for the bondage babe's life and work in two DVD biopics: "Bette Page: Dark Angel" and "The Notorious Bette Page." Both come with plenty of fetish fun.

Marvel Entertainment's "Iron Man" is smart, exciting and

Chris Marker doesn't fit into any of the
buckets or boxes we use to contain and categorize
filmmakers. The operative description seems to be "cine-essayist" -- but even that open-ended bag feels too conventional. His films often operate in a dreamlike state, where images can jet in from any source.
