Animals can bring us so much joy. On the big screen they can bring out some big laughs, plus their contracts give them a lot more freedom to go nuts. We took a look back at some of funniest movie moments featuring, or related to, animals and compiled this list for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy and be sure to add any of your favorites that might be missing from this list, because everyone loves a good animal joke.

*Rounding the bend toward 2010, what better time to look back at some of the most entertaining, weird, funny and just plain memorable moments from the first 10 years of the 2000s? Our “Best of the ’00s” series will showcase some of the highlights, and lowlights so far this century.

10. "Grandma’s Boy"—"Drive Monkey Drive!" (2006): It was a toss up between this memorable monkey moment or the classic king of the jungle TV interview. We all know a monkey can't really drive (they can't reach the pedals, duh). But still, who didn't laugh when these two pot-heads put a primate behind the wheel?

9. "Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle"—Riding a cheetah (2004): This entire movie is one unbelieveale, smoke-induced scenario after another. I mean come on, you can't ride a Cheetah like a horse? Though it would be really fun, and fast! Then again, Neil Patrick Harris probably wouldn't have stolen their car either, but hey, use your imagination.

8. "Night at the Museum"—Monkey Slapping (2006): Drop any version of the classic "quit spanking your monkey" joke right in here. Is it too much to point out that Larry has foam all over his face?

7. "Taladega Nights"—Cougar in the car (2006): Nothing says driver's training like an angry cougar in the front seat (except maybe a monkey behind the wheel). 

6. "The Hangover"—Tiger it the Bathroom (2009): Speaking of dangerous cats, how does one end up with a tiger in their bathroom in Vegas without visiting Sigfreid and Roy? One word...alcohol.

5. "The Simpson’s Movie—Spiderpig and Homer get intimate (2007): Remember that pot bellied pig craze in Hollywood? Well Homer was just a few years late to the party, but he and his good buddy Spiderpig/Harry Plopper made a really cute couple.

4. "Old School"—Neck dart (2003): You can't have a funny animal moments list without including "Old School." Come on, a tranquilizer dart in the neck? And seriously, did you get a look at the tiny pony? I seriously doubt the dart gun was necessary, though it is funny. 

3. "Super Troopers"—Meow scene (2001): No cats were harmed in the filming of this scene.

2. "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy"—"That's how I roll" (2004): The simple act of punting a tiny dog off the Coronado Bridge sent Ron Burgundy spiraling downward to his demise all for the benefit of our entertainment.

1. "Best in Show"—Busy Bee (2000): You've gotta hand it to Christopher Guest, he really captured the essence of crazy dog people in this film. Choosing a single funny moment almost isn't fair to the rest of the comedy. Well, for the sake of the list, we chose this one.
