Hey, guys! I hope all is well -- for some reason, my DVR didn't record Fringe , so I need to catch up. In the meantime, I can't stop thinking about last night's dream, in which Adrian Grenier came to visit my office cubicle and proceeded to steal all of my DVDs. I wonder what that means. Anyway, some headlines: - A musical stage version ...
A Film by Bruce Willis. Trade Roughage 09/24/08

Of course, producers still need to contract a couple hacks to write the book and music, and they don't yet have the rights to those Genesis and Huey Lewis songs, either. But producer David Johnson (a former MGM exec) tells Variety the timing couldn't be more perfect: "Now in particular it seems ...
5 Book Adaptations That Shouldn’t Become Musicals

Okay, so for some reason a company has bought the stage rights to American Psycho and is planning to turn it into an ’80s musical. And we’ll be frank: we don’t understand this AT ALL.
Sure, some movies have worked on Broadway–Legally Blond, Shrek, The Producers–but those are all broad comedies. We’re talking about a movie that was adapted from an actual, no-pictures, BOOK. Two severed thumbs down, American Psycho: The Musical. And in case any of you would-be impresarios are considering adapting other books-that-became-movies into musicals, ...
