Sony has yet to cast the roles of Maximilian Kohler (director of CERN) and Camerlengo Carlo Ventresca (aide to the Pope). The production was delayed late last year due to the writers strike. It is now set to begin filming in Europe in June, eyeing a May 15, 2009, release date. Well, she was good in Munich, anyway. I don't have very high hopes for this movie, though, I must say. source

Sorry if I'm more cynical than usual, but I have a feeling this is going to be just as stupid and boring as the previous film.
Maybe audiences will actually avoid this one...or maybe they'll just go see Star Trek for the 4th time instead - sounds good to me!
Cameras roll this June in Europe (again under the direction of Ron Howard) for summer 2009 release.
