I'm having a hard time understanding the negative backlash I've seen so far from readers regarding Avatar. I know most of you love Cameron's films like Aliens, T2, True Lies, etc. so why is this film giving you the gas face? Is it because of the Na'vi? Is it how they look? Is it the fact that it's 99.9% CGI? Do you guys not like the planet, the mechs, the actors? I mean, so far Cameron has hit nothing but home runs and while there's a lot riding on this film monetary wise for the studio, I think it will still do well. Today CNN has an interview with Avatar director James Cameron in which the HMFIC addresses the mostly negative reaction to his movie's trailer: "Honestly, it's a bit of a relief. If everybody was embracing the film before the fact, the film could never live up to that expectation … If everybody was just sort of praising it too much right now, that would make me even more nervous."
