Two of our favorite Professional Fangrrls, Maureen Ryan at The Chicago Tribune and Jennifer Godwin at E!Online, have taken things a tad further in the news department this week by prodding their own sources. From Ryan: According to well-informed sources, it’s almost certain that at least one “Battlestar Galactica” TV movie will be made this year. Here’s even better news: Two hours are going to be added to “Battlestar’s” final run of episodes... Regarding the “Battlestar” TV movie, it may actually be released on DVD first, and then aired on Sci ...

And word is the not-“Caprica” TV-movie prequel is a 90-percent certainty. Mo Ryan at the Chicago Tribune has the scoop here !! [image] ...

... Helo, or only a small role for him, because actor Tahmoh Penikett is currently filming for Joss Whedon's new show Dollhouse and would probably miss the shooting for the BSG TV movie. We're guessing that means that the TV movie could take place during season one, when Helo was stuck on Caprica. Galactica Sitrep also confirms that the writers and producers of the TV movies have recieved contracts allowing the studio to greenlight as many movies as it sees fit. ... , but long story short: Sci Fi already signed the writers to do at least one movie, and the other two will follow along in due course, assuming the first goes as well as everybody hopes. ... I’m more than happy to go out on a limb and share with you. THE IT CROWD was purposely shelved because the Peacock Network is hard at work quietly developing a spin-off to THE OFFICE that just so happens to revolve around, you guessed it, an IT crowd. Anyone else going to join me on that limb? Is SCI FI really going to make us wait until 2009 for the second half of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA’s final season? — SimplyKimberly Yes. But if it makes you feel better, there’s a silver—lining. Maureen Ryan at the Chicago Tribute recently broke the news that the second half of the final ...
