Madonna Making A Movie About British Royals... Maybe?

Madonna Making A Movie About British Royals... Maybe? This piece in London's Daily Mail about Madonna planning an upcoming directorial project is so British, full of so much slang and insider references to royalty, that I pretty much don't even know how to read it. Apparently Madonna is planning to make a movie about two British royals, Prince Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson (who became the Duke and Duchess of Windsor), and she got Guy Ritchie's help to make it--sorta. Of course, being that this is a story reported in a British tabloid, there's no telling how likely this film ...

... ”, which I think is one of Madge’s best. Also, Madge might be looking to return to acting (NO!). The Daily Mail is reporting that Madge is interested in playing Wallis Simpson, the infamous American divorcee who romanced King Edward, and forced his abdication. Oh, Madge cowrote the script too. And she might direct. Guess who is advising her? Guy Ritchie. Seriously. ...

Here we go again!
Madonna's film ambitions have resurfaced and if history has taught us anything, they do NOT usually go over well.
Madge has co-written the film W.E. with Alex Keshishian which is about Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson who were the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.
Set to direct the film, Madonna's even getting advice from ex-hubby Guy Ritchie when it comes to casting decisions. He's suggesting meetings with Mark Strong and Tony Kebbell who had roles in his ...

Mead returns to the stage in January, but in a non-musical part, playing the title role of Oscar Wilde's black comedy Lord Arthur Savile's Crime opposite Kate O'Mara, with Christopher Luscombe directing at the Theatre Royal Windsor from January 11 before, hopefully, coming into the West End. Slightly different version. Source

Madonna Takes Another Stab at Directing

Could Madonna's Hollywood life fare any better as director? After seeing a tweet pop up from Production Weekly, I headed over to the Daily Mail to learn that Madonna has written a film called W.E. with Truth or Dare director Alex Keshishian, which she's planning to direct. This will be her second feature after the not-so-great Filth and Wisdom from 2008.
The first film was typical Madonna -- fetishes, re-appropriating iconic symbols (the Rocky Horrorish lips that graced the films poster). But this time ...

... Madonna and Alek Keshishian have written a script called W.E. and all about a fictional granddaughter of Edward 8th and Wallis Simpson. According to the hilarious Baz Bamigboye in the Daily Mail (Baz, I’m laughing at you, not with you) Madonna will direct the film herself. Great. Best bit of Baz’s chucklesome story? That “a couple of agents who represent distinguished thespians sought reassurances that Madonna was not going to act in the picture as well”. ...
