It’s based on a five-issue Radical comic book series [image] a five-issue Radical comic book series by Steve Moore ("Tom Strong's Terrific Tales"). (Radical is the same publisher behind “Caliber,” which is being developed as a directorial effort for John Woo.) Berg is also developing a remake of "Dune" for Paramount. Peter Berg (Hancock, The Kingdom) is set to direct Hercules: The Thracian Wars, based on Steve Moore's five-issue comic book of the same name, which came out in May. This project, of course, is not to be confused with War of Gods, from Tarsem Singh and the producers of 300 about a war between Gods and humans. Nor should it be confused with Clash of the Titans, to be directed by Louis Leterrier (Incredible Hulk). And oh yeah, they're also making a sequel to the 300 that they're even admitting is a sequel to 300. Hollywood these days is like hanging out with four coked-up dudes ...

Variety reports that Peter Berg is moving from the 21st century superhero trials of Will Smith to the classical era superhero trials of Hercules in Hercules: The Thracian Wars. The film will be based on Steve Moore’s comic book series from Radical Publishing (as I’m sure you remember, Radical also recently announced a deal for John Woo to direct their property Caliber…oh, and yes, this is counting as comic book adaptation of the week #2). Ryan Condal is writing the script.

Hancock director Peter Berg has plans to produce and direct a film based on Hercules: The Thracian Wars, a comic from the same company that just sold their thunder-shooting gun comic to John Woo. From Variety:
Berg will produce and will develop to direct "Hercules: The Thracian Wars," a co-production of Spyglass Entertainment, Berg’s Film 44 and Radical Pictures. Spyglass and Universal will co-finance the film.
