But it's a masterpiece, still, impossible for me to separate in my mind from one giant omnibus evolving in leaps and bounds with each technological advancement and revealing with each ironic scrub, addition, and subtraction a piece forever growing in terms of intra- and extra-textual complexity." ] *** [image] 3. It's Not Too Late To Whip It
Published 5/21/2008 by noreply@blogger.com (Brian) at Hell On Frisco Bay
It's true I've had reservations about the fact that Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull is playing at the Castro Theatre until the day before Frameline. But now that the moment is upon me, I'm as caught up in the excitement as just about anybody else. (How does Hollywood do that?) Multiplex Mayhem: “Prince Caspian” Slowed by Bullz-Eye Curse?
I made it clear Friday that, my no-link vengeance notwithstanding, I didn’t see Walden and Disney Media suffering for making it next to impossible for Bullz-Eye to review the second “Chronicles of Narnia” film, “Prince Caspian.” But, suffer they did, though perhaps the blow was not fatal. To be fair, $56 million is always a tidy chunk of change, but a dyslexic ...
Review: The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian
Rating: 4 out of 5 Short version: Prince Caspian is much better than the first Narnia film. Let's get straight to the point: If you liked the first Chronicles of Narnia movie, you'll like this one even better. For some reason I never wrote a review of the first one, but if I had I probably would have given it about 3 out of 5, a full point lower than Prince Caspian . On ...

The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian Review
There is a heavy responsibility you accept when trying to adapt a beloved series of novels to the big screen. You bring along a heavy set of expectations from pre-existing fans to not only produce an excellent movie, but also one that remains true (at least in spirit) to the original novel. This is insanely difficult considering the average novel can be anywhere from 300-700 pages… and ...

"The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" **1/2 (out of four): It's back to Narnia in this second, and only slightly more meaty, adaptation of the C.S. Lewis fantasy franchise.
