Jay Adler Although a healthy and strapping male, my comment on Christina Applegate's apparently successful battle with this insidious disease may appear to be vicarious. It so happens that my own wife of 27 years went through this, actually I should say the entire family went through this several years ago. The whole process is weakening in spirit and body and always leaves a trace of trepidation at any stage of involvement. I always admired Christina's unusual beauty and appeal on television as a fan and that has not changed at all. I am so happy that she lives with an objective and understanding man who has pulled her through the agony and evidently will be there for her as she continuesher appreciated career. Jay Adler

It was also very nice of you to acknowledge the contribution of a freelance writer. Of course, you must realize that Christina's story was of personal value to our family because it has also struck my wife who is now considered in medical terms, a survivor.
