The Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner was a rousing success last night thanks to the funny one liners of Barack Obama and John McCain. The formal white tie affair is a fundraiser for Catholic Charities. Last years event amassed $3.8 million.
The candidates poked fun at themselves and each other with self deprecating humor. It was a break from political attacks and talk of the bad economy. Instead of political punches, the pair exchanged punchlines.

Sarah Palin Saturday Night Live Appearance

It appears that Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is ready to go head to head with Tina Fey on Saturday Night Live. She will appear on tonight’s show along with host Josh Brolin.
The news has been confirmed by a spokeswoman for the John McCain camp but no other details on her appearance were given. Our guess is the show will have record viewers.
We will be watching and we will post the video as soon as we can get our hands on it. Until then we have some other very funny video done by Tina Fey on SNL.

Maryline Blackburn knew Sarah Palin before she became a household name in Alaska or the rest of the world. The two met in 1984 during the Miss Alaska pageant. Blackburn eventually won while Sarah Heath took second runner-up honors and was voted Miss Congeniality by her peers.
Diane Osbourne was a local pageant coach who worked with all of the girls prior to the big competition. Anne Pressly 1982-2008
Anne Pressly, 26, died at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center on Saturday, days after being attacked by an unknown assailant at her home in Little Rock, Arkansas.
She was discovered by her mother on Monday morning when she did not answer her morning wake up call, just a half-hour before she was to appear on ABC affiliate KATV’s Daybreak program.

Amy Poehler, the talented SNL mainstay, gave birth to a son on Saturday. She is married to Will Arnett of the popular Arrested Development series. They named their 8 pound 1 ounce boy Archie Arnett.
Amy appeared on Thursday night’s special prime time edition of SNL and rehearsed on Friday for Saturday night’s show. But her command performance ended up being the birth of a child rather than her normal comedic pursuits in front of a national audience.

Danyelle Sargent is starting to rack up her on air oops moments. The sports television reporter for ESPN News also contributes to ESPN First Take.

The Canadian radio duo of Sebastien Trudel and Marc-Antoine Audette have struck again. The comedic team from CKOI-FM Montreal phoned Sarah Palin, representing one of the men as French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Unfortunately, Palin feel for the ruse hook, line and sinker.
The video that is now being played around the world covers politics, discussion of hunting with a mention of Dick Cheney, Carla Bruni and Joe the Plumber. The call ended rather abruptly when Palin learned that she had been duped.

Beth McDonough KMSP FOX 9 Crime Reporter Arrested (Mugshot)

Beth McDonough, 40, crime reporter for KMSP FOX 9 News in Minneapolis was arrested early Saturday morning in Minnetonka for probable cause second degree drunken driving. Her second arrest in 15 months, McDonough was already serving a four year probation sentence for gross misdemeanor drunken driving in August 2007.
According to Minnesota State Patrol spokesman Mark Peterson, she was booked in Hennepin County and posted a $12,000 bond at the time of her release on Saturday afternoon. McDonough apparently had a property damage crash in Golden Valley before police stopped her in Minnetonka.

Abby Elliott and Michaela Watkins have big shoes to fill replacing Amy Poehler and Tina Fey on Saturday Night Live.
NBC announced Thursday that Elliott and Watkins will join SNL this week as featured players.
The new comediennes are no strangers to showbiz.

The radio jock has been doing the midnight to 5:00 a.m. Monday-Friday since 1999, covering political issues and current events. MediaBiz has leaked news that LeVeille had gotten his pink slip along with Tom Cuddy, Pat Desmarais and Lovell Dyett but their names and photos still appear on the station’s website.
