Fuchs had reportedly been attending a party hosted by the Uniform Project, which promotes sustainable fashion. Detectives say Fuchs, 34, was trying to climb out of a broken elevator in the building, a converted factory used as residential and commercial space, when a piece of his clothing got caught on something, ABC News reports . BROOKLYN—A 34-year-old man who tried to exit a stuck elevator died after falling five stories down a Brooklyn elevator shaft.
Police say the man had been trying to jump out of a disabled elevator car when his clothing caught on something.
The man was unconscious and unresponsive when emergency responders brought him to Bellevue Hospital Center. He was pronounced dead at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, about three hours after the fall in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn.

Drummer Jerry Fuchs, who played for the bands mentioned above, has died in a freak accident at the age of 34. He died when he had attempted to jump out of the broken elevator and his clothing caught onto an object, causing him to fall down the shaft. In a post on his website , Juan MacLean writes, "Jerry was one of my best and most loyal friends. He was hands-down the best drummer I have ever played with or seen for that matter." More from AP
