Oh No They Didn't! — ... ever gave Bernard (producer Bernard Butler) any money to work with me. It was all done on a shoestring. The album took nearly four years to make. We had to hire cheap, tiny studios and sometimes there would be three-week periods between writing and recording. "When I was writing it I never knew what my fate was... At times we wondered if it would ever be released. I'm just this girl from Wales - it could have done nothing and I could have faded into obscurity." Source
