Wow, this is fascinating. Rakim tells my friend Jerry Barrow that he had mixed feelings about Nas’ “Unauthorized Biography of Rakim” song (off Streets Disciple, 2004)….and by mixed, it seems like a mix of “you’re overstepping” and “you shoulda asked me first.” (Hence the “unauthorized” I guess)
But Ra also says Nas didn’t respond to his outreach after the song came out. Which seems impolite. It feels ...
