She's terrible, but from what I've heard they played her up to win because she was up against a 17 year old girl, Diana DeGarmo (sp?), who was one of these robo-contestants, born and bred to win these types of competitions, so, worried that American Idol would turn into a teeny bopper competition, they showered Fantasia with enough praise to sway voters her way. The next year they opened up auditions to anyone under 30.
