The Movie Blog —
Thanks to the good people over at comingsoon it looks like we have a first look of Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. Check it out -
I like this look. He looks like a crazy man with a fantastic hat and ridiculous clothes. I think a character like this should be the opposite of subdued, and we have ourselves here a hatter that’s outlandish.
Thank you to the Live Show chat friends for making me aware of this!

I'd Still Hit It
Dlisted - Be Very Afraid —
... movie, because she will try to cut up and snort everyone! You know, this is exactly how I expected Johnny as Burton's Mad Hatter to look. I was hoping Tim Burton would do something different and make Johnny do the whole movie completely naked. Well, naked except for a floppy top hat, of course. Now that's what I call art! And yes, I'd still hit it. If I blink my eyes really fast, Johnny kind of looks like Carrot Top in Geisha make-up and that's always been a fantasy of mine. VIA Coming Soon

Photo of Johnny Depp as Mad Hatter leaked
Cele|bitchy —
... how far away the release date is this seems like a genuine photo leak and not an attempt to drum up publicity for the film. You never know, though.
Doesn’t it look like Depp has gained a little weight? His cheeks look a little fuller, although it could be the makeup. Like some of the advance photos of Heath Ledger as the Joker that came out ahead of The Dark Knight, there’s always the possibility that someone cooked this up in Photoshop.

This Can’t Be Real
Agent Bedhead —
itsnotreal ComingSoon.net seems to think that this is the first look at Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s upcoming Alice in Wonderland . It looks a lot more like a fan-made hoax by a two-bit hack who tried really hard to use the Photoshop “clone” tool in the background but, as a result of improper application, ended up with a blurry fucking mess. Then, we have the alleged costume itself, which looks like Jack Sparrow’s headband atop Carrot Top’s hair, Willy Wonka’s sense of style, and an overweight drag queen wearing Edward Scissorhand’s makeup.
