First Look: Oliver Stone's Bush biopic
''Where is George Bush's bedroom?'' Oliver Stone is flinging open French doors inside an enormous brick man¬sion in Shreveport, La., inspecting loca¬tions for his new film about the 43rd President of the United States. ''This one is too small,'' he says. ''This one looks like George Tenet's bedroom. Where did we decide to put Bush's bedroom? It's around here somewhere, isn't it?'' Shooting ... [link]

This movie will be a trainwreck -- dramedy about a sitting president is going to bring so much controversy that the movie itself will be the back story. No big surprise there, typically Stone's style.

Not A Joke
Published 8 days ago by Michael K at Dlisted - Be Very Afraid
Entertainment Weekly has the first pictures of Josh Brolin as George W. Bush and Elizabeth Banks as Laura Bush for the movie " W." Unfortunately, this is not directed by Christopher Guest and it's not a comedy. Oliver Stone is directing this ass fuck extravaganza which beings shooting in a couple of weeks. Elizabeth Banks is no Laura Bush. She looks more like your pill-popping auntie that is on welfare, but wears cheap suits she buys from Filene's Basement to try and look high-class. Josh Brolin looks like a vacuum salesman by day and a child toucher by night. ...

First Look at Josh B. as George B.
Published 8 days ago by Sasha Stone at Awards Daily 2008
... Thanks to reader Michael who points us to the latest EW with Josh Brolin as W on the cover.  It’s difficult to recognize the actor, and I’ve long been wondering about this project anyway, whether it’s too soon for an Oliver Stone interpretation of these events.  Of the two films Stone has made on US Presidents, only one I really love.  I appreciate JFK in certain ways but I think the film is dishonest in its portrayal of Garrison and thus, it becomes difficult to take it seriously - well I guess there are many reasons to not take it seriously - it is good ...

... Entertainment Weekly has some exclusive pictures of Josh Brolin as George W. Bush as he gets ready to shoot Oliver Stone's biopic, W. According to the article, Stone had trouble casting the role. Weird. I don't really understand why anyone would be hesitant about portraying the leader of the free world, especially one as reckless and easily wounded as this one. So, how has Brolin been getting into the character? ...

Josh Brolin's 'W' Glamour Shot Overshadows Critical Dick Cheney Casting Call [Defamer Casting]
Published 8 days ago by STV at Defamer
... on the media and all modest Americans of taste and discretion, it's not like Entertainment Weekly had to go rub it in with its new cover story. But there they are anyway: Josh Brolin and Elizabeth Banks as the President and First Lady, all set to ham it up in the drama Stone is apparently location scouting as we speak. Alas, with Stone swearing up and down he can have the film in theaters by election time, one critical vacuum remains: Who, who will play Dick Cheney? ...

Josh Brolin is emerging as one of our most talented young actors and his recent work has been electrifying. Oddly, I still picture him strapped upside down in an easychair by his lil brother and his friends at the beginning of an awesome Goonie adventure.
