Chicago IL, USA, June 2, 2008 – Men on this season’s The Bachelorette are fighting over DeAnna while one former contestant is still throwing punches.
David Vargas, former contestant on The Bachelorette in 2004 will make his amateur boxing debut in memory of his late brother at Fight Club Chicago, July 12th at the Aragon Ballroom.
Fight Club Chicago, is an event popular among men and women of traditional “white collar” professions with limited boxing experience. “I’ve always wanted to do something different like this” explains Vargas, 33, who will also debut The Bobby Vargas Foundation, named after his late brother. “I wanted to announce this foundation in a big way and when I heard Jabb Boxing Gym was organizing the event it was a perfect fit”. Vargas has been training at the gym for the past 3 months.
A portion of the proceeds from tickets purchased through the foundation will be donated to The Illinois Institute of Art, to promote art related careers. "My brother started my interest in art and I eventually pursued a degree in visual communications,” says Vargas, a full time Chicago realtor with @properties. “No matter what field your in, a creative background can always help you succeed. That’s our main message to high school kids”.
Tickets for Fight Club Chicago event are available at www.bobbyvargasfoundation.com.
