... creates the lost on a space highway feel that is often butchered by countless electronic artists. The intro in his remix of Freak You’s “From Nowhere” escalates into a overwhelming rush of nerves. When the track accelerates nearly halfway through it feels like a car crash into a strobing disco ball. Audio clip: ...
Freak You Out, In A Nice Way
TRASH MENAGERIE —
Don’t let the artwork fool you. This guy is only teasing. He doesn’t mean any harm!
Freak You is Franck from southern France who has been making electronic music for 10 years now (under a different moniker). He names Aphex Twin, Vitalic, Extrawelt, Georgio Moroder, and Cerrone as his influences. But also “a lot of classical music, new wave like “Frankie goes to Hollywood or Eurythmics”…”and sentimental with Serge Gainsbourg, Jewel …” Thus, this man means pop! And he’s got talent.
Oh, and he has a wine shop! How cool is that: ...
Freak You remixes we are ENFANT TERRIBLE
TRASH MENAGERIE —
Freak You who has been featured on this blog recently sent over his latest work. Franck has given his touch to “Eagles Don’t Sparkl” by fellow frenchmen we are ENFANT TERRIBLE. This trio hails from Paris and is still unsigned. That might change pretty soon though as weEF are playing Club NME both in London and Paris in February.
While the original is a stomping electronic rock song with spooky vocals, the remix is haunting like New Order in their most melancholic moments. Freak You makes the song faster and adds a more driving beat. Nice work, though not for the ...
There’s a beast hidden between the flowers.
TRASH MENAGERIE —
I had first heard of Digitalfoxglove when he did a remix of “D.I.S.C.O.TEXAS Theme” by Xinobi and Moulinex. Apparently that remix and the quality of his own original productions which followed caught the attention of French label boss Freak You (see more on him here). And the wine connaisseur did the right thing: he convinced Digitalfoxglove to be on the roster of On The Fruit Records – a haven for synth lovers.
With a lengthy intro of about one minute, this piece of music is a real gem that takes you on a journey through an exciting summer night. ...

Bestrack, give us your best tracks!
TRASH MENAGERIE —
Bestrack introduced himself to the French synth-house scene in the most appropriate way: he did a stellar remix of Worship’s “Ritual Action” and added another one for Tesla Boy’s “Spirit of the Night”. Last month he finally released his first EP on Bouchemiture Recordings (headed by no other than the great Justin Faust).
The Sunset City EP is a collection of cheesy house gems. Bestrack has assembled – I guess with a little help from Justin Faust – an allstar roster to provide remixes. Worship returns the favor and Louis La ...
Stress (featuring Rye Rye) - Nananah! (Electrolightz Remix)
Sheena Beaston —
By all accounts, I'd like to take a small dose of credit for introducing Electrolightz to a very nichey, totally critical and especially "cop my steez-able" blogworld. While there will always be the latter, we're still forging ahead in grand support of the boys who make our booties bounce. First, the dudes smashed a Keri Hilson fix, then they totally demolished a La Roux track...only to dive on into a crowded pool of emails and make a splash with their remix of an unkonwn Swissman featuring a Baltimorian staple. Stress is the above mentioned Swiss kid, and his jam, ...
