George Lucas Planning to Re-release Star Wars Movies in 3D
Published 7/23/2008 by Sean at Film Junk
[image] I don’t think there’s anyone out there who didn’t see this coming. With 3D slowly proving itself to be the next big technological step for the movie industry, there are a lot of filmmakers looking into the possibility of enhancing older movies using this new format. Of course, at the forefront of that movement is Mr. George Lucas, who it seems is constantly looking for new ways to retell the same damn story over and over again. According to the folks at Coming Soon ...
Star Wars films to go 3-D
Published 7/23/2008 at Filmstalker
... ' plan comes from Coming Soon , who spoke to DreamWorks Animations CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg. He had this to say about Lucas' plans to turn Star Wars 3-D. He isn't going to put a product out, I think, that isn't anything other than first rate. Ahem, okay then. No more details than that at this time but I can't say I'm thrilled. All six ...

Lucas Is Gonna Get In Your Face !! STAR WARS Films In 3-D Closer & Closer To Reality...

Merrick here... We've heard hints of this for some time now. Footage of test runs of a 3-D transformation of EPISODE IV (I believe it was) were screened at ShowWest a few years back if I'm not mistaken. I'm told then results were breathtaking. 3-D STAR WARS projects were again mentioned during the recent announcement that In-Three, the company which developed the previously mentioned ShoWest footage, would be using its proprietary "dimensionalization" technology to rework Romero's DAWN OF THE DEAD into a new 3-D theatrical presentation (details HERE ). Now, it seems, Lucas has his heart set on the matter. ComingSoon.net ...
Star Wars In 3D: Can You Handle It?
Published 7/23/2008 at Cinema Blend News
Star Wars In 3D: Can You Handle It? George Lucas seems to have given up on making any more live-action movies that may further tarnish the legacy of Star Wars , and thats a good thing. But he might be looking to dig into the vault and bring the six movies back to the big screenagain!in a whole new jazzed-up format. A good thing, or beating a dead horse? ComingSoon.net ...
Star Wars Movies In 3-D?
Published 7/24/2008 by Angel Orona at Movie Moron
Despite being raised on the original series, I was never a huge Star Wars geek. While I did enjoy seeing the films as a kid and collecting the action figures they didn’t have as significant an effect on my moviegoing as my peers.
The follow-up trilogy I found to a depressingly plodding attempt to beat a dead horse into fast food hamburger meat. It also affirmed my belief that George Lucas had shot his creative load with the original series and hasn’t returned its calls since then. However this still hasn’t stopped him from again returning to the dried out well with the upcoming animated feature Star Wars: The ...
Original Star Wars Trilogy To Lunge Down Your Throat [Star Wars]
Published 7/24/2008 by Meredith Woerner at io9
It's official: George Lucas is working on a 3-D version of the original Star Wars, because apparently you haven't given him enough of your money. I've got to wonder, why is this necessary? What will be added by seeing Luke wave his lightsaber into an audience? Oh right: he'll make crap-tons of cash. Now if they had Luke's actual severed hand fall into the crowd, that would be worth watching. Am I the only one yearning for some original Lucas work? Click through for more details on the 3D Star Wars. According to ComingSoon, Jeffrey Katzenberg confirmed that George Lucas is looking to repurpose the six ...
