Brokeback Mountain is coming to an opera house near you. The New York City Opera commissioned Charles Wuorinen to compose a show based on the 1997 short story — which was turned into the 2005 Oscar -winning movie starring Heath Ledger ( who died in January ) and Jake Gyllenhaal . Just when you thought Brokeback Mountain couldn’t get any gayer, it hits you upside your head with this gem.
