In it, Wilson plays a drummer for an 80s hair band on the cusp of making it big – then they fire him. Two decades later, he’s working a regular job he hates and gets the chance to drum for his nephew’s garage band and all his old bad habits come back along with his desire to push them to be the biggest band on earth. Rainn Wilson as a failed drummer who decides to join a high school band led by his nephew, played by Josh Gad (who, for the record, I knew in high school, and was crazy talented): It's actually Rainn as a little boy! They added the glasses, but otherwise, that's him. He was so cute! But who else has a sneaking suspish he was mocked as a child? It's a pleasure to be among such fine company, sir.
