... None of the major movie studios (or their mini major labels) were willing to pick this one up, so Peace Arch Releasing are taking on the distribution themselves. Which is kind of a shame considering the movie was actually pretty good. Judging by the theatrical one-sheet (upper right) and the new Red Band movie trailer which premiered on IGN, Peace Arch knows what they’ve got (unlike Sony Pictures Classics, who is already screwing up The Wackness campaign, as predicted). The Babysitters made its premiere last year at the Toronto Film Festival and is being distributed by Peace Arch Entertainment. It is slated for a limited release on NYC on May 9th.

The film is about a 16 year old babysitter in high school who realizes that she can make money by turning her "services" into a call-girl job for married men. This isn't as over-the-top as some may assume, and looks like a fairly good indie movie, so give it a shot. Be aware - this is a red band trailer!
