Jay-Z’s ‘American Gangster’ Previewed

Entertainment Weekly had a chance to hear Jay-Z s concept album American Gangster (Nov. 6) last Friday. According to them, the album sounds like a Jay-Z fan s dream come true. Some interesting notes: • Diddy (!!!) produced several tracks on the album including Pray and No Hook. • Jermaine Dupri did two cuts ( When the Money s Gone and Fallen ). • Beanie Sigel ( Ignorant Shit ) and Bilal ( Fallen ) are guests on the album. • DJ Toomp ( Say Hello to the Bad Guy ) and No I.D. ( Success ) contributed a couple songs. • Blue Magic may appear as an unlisted bonus track. • Jay is still considering including a song that samples Marvin Gaye.
