THE CUP OF TEARS trailer certainly ranks high on style points, but the big question is – will the film itself have enough of a story to keep things from eventually getting stale? Aside from some close-ups, there’s not much to go on as to what this movie would actually sound like, or really even what it’s about. Great CGI visuals can’t carry an otherwise awful movie. This is Gary Shore's second feature film and he takes what appears to be a samurai revenge story and transposes it into a '300'/'Sin City'-esque cinematic backdrop. Except there's one bit of the trailer that's in space. A SAMURAI FILM IN SPACE?! The finished producT may very well be style over substance but that's ambition for you.
